Cinq à Sept Celebrations at Ananas Bar & Brasserie

Posted on: April 11th, 2013

Bloggers and media celebrated Ananas Bar & Brasserie’s new ‘Cinq à Sept’ offering at twilight last week.

Cinq à Sept, translating to ‘five to seven’, (and traditionally having other meanings in France!) is toasting the bewitching hours of 5-7pm. Between these hours during the autumn months, guests can visit Bar Ananas for glasses of champagne (Ruinart and Marc) and selected cocktails for $15. Plus, champagne and cocktails are available for $15 from 11pm until close on Friday nights for French Fridays.

As food and drink bloggers and media settled into Bar Ananas’s plush banquettes, they mingled, sampled canapés and sipped on beverages as part of the offering.

The Marc ‘Initiale’ Brut Champagne flowed, along with Bar Ananas’s signature cocktails- ‘Absolutely Ananas’ and ‘Lagavulin 16 Old Fashioned’- a twist on the original Old Fashioned. Not to mention a variety of creations made on request by cocktail connoisseur, Sean.

To pair with the drinking, delicious French-inspired bites were also served, including Truffled Mushroom Velouté, Toasted Brioche with Baby Fennel and Salted Cod Brandade, Tartlet of Rabbit Rillettes and oysters- one of Ananas’s specialties from its oyster bar. The evening finished on a sweet note with Lemon and Poppy seed macaroons.

And since guests continued the festivities past 7pm, it certainly gave new meaning to the term ‘Cinq à Sept’!
