Yesterday we commemorated a decade long partnership between ghd and the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) with a breakfast event for 70 guests, hosted by NBCF Patron Sarah Murdoch.
Held at Cafe Sydney, guests were treated to canapés on the terrace looking over Sydney Harbour before being seated for a delicious sit-down breakfast. NBCF CEO Carole Renouf made a special milestone announcement of ghd’s commitment of a $1 million contribution in 2013, elevating the company to a Pink Diamond partnership status with NBCF.
Speakers also included ghd Managing Director Lino Sinni and Louise Sinclair, a member of the NBCF Speakers Bureau and a breast cancer survivor, with her inspirational story of survival that united guests in a standing ovation.
For the past ten years, ghd, in collaboration with its salon partners has shared the NBCF’s vision, contributing towards funding research into the prevention and cure of breast cancer. Sales from the company’s iconic pink styler campaign (run annually) have helped support a continued and concerted research effort. With the commitment of $1 million for 2013, ghd Australia’s total contribution to the NBCF will reach over $3.7 million in funding by year’s end.
Key guests included NBCF Patron Sarah Murdoch; ex-contestant on The Voice Prinnie Stevens; Channel Seven reporter Sally Obermeder; ghd ambassador Jayne Wild and MANNING CARTELL designers Cheryl, Vanessa and Gabrielle.
