Brisket is Best at Taste of Sydney

Crowds flocked to Centennial Park for the opening night of Taste of Sydney to sample some of the best food Sydney has to offer. A selection of Sydney’s hottest restaurants including Efendy, Popolo, The Woods, Ananas Bar & Brasserie, Three Blue Ducks, The Cut Bar & Grill, Four in Hand, 4Fourteen, Saké Restaurant & Bar, Jonah’s Whale Beach, Biota Dining, Muse Dining, Porteño, Claude’s, Kitchen by Mike and Longrain cooked up a storm as punters exchanged crowns for tasty samples from the delectable menus.

Guests at the gala event included Corbin Harris, Dr Chris Brown, Elka Whalan, Zoe Bingley-Pullin, Lyndey Milan, Nikita Sernack, Marian Grasby and chefs Manu Feidel and Matt Moran. Held in the Miele VIP lounge, guests sipped champagne and enjoyed a selection of delicious canapés. Chefs from the gourmet stalls themselves took time out from serving the masses, with Ben Milgate and Elvis Abrahanowicz of Porteño, Colin Fassnidge of Four in Hand and 4Fourteen, and Shaun Presland of Saké Restaurant & Bar mingling with guests.

A BBQ Wagyu Beef Brisket dish created by Ben Milgate and Elvis Abrahanowicz of Porteño was crowned the best dish at the inaugural Best in Taste Awards. For the first time ever, the Best in Taste Awards saw the Taste of Sydney chefs submit a signature dish that was then judged by a panel of esteemed food critics led by two-time winner of Best in Taste at Taste of London, Chef Pascal Aussignac of Club Gascon.
