Live music beats in the heart of Tia Maria globally, and (finally) the famed Tia Maria Room landed in Sydney and Melbourne in October. In the spirit of mixing, two independent artists joined forces in each city for one-off, Tia Maria exclusive performances. Both events were of course the perfect opportunity to try Tia Maria’s fantastic summer cocktails including Tia Espresso Martini, Dark Maria, Tia Ginger and Tia & Cola.
At Sydney’s The Standard, DJ Alison Wonderland provided the beats for singer Owl Eyes’ haunting vocals which had the crowd jumping and entranced at the same time. A special, and very unexpected treat was the impromptu stylings of freestyle dancer Elliott Crane from the band Furnace, once of Alison’s close friends and a very quirky guy.
It was the boys’ turn in Melbourne with Channel V’s Danny Clayton mashing up party favourites overlayed with the jamming riffs of Art vs. Science’s guitarist Dan Mac. Ding Dong Lounge played host and Tia Maria Room Melbourne definitely brought some southern state swagger. In fact, the guys were having so much fun, and the dance floor was pumping so much that by the end of their set they decided to keep on going for another hour.
The response to Sydney and Melbourne’s parties proved that with Tia Maria, the party certainly kicks off when the sun goes down. And it’s fair to say that judging from the feedback of those attending, Tia Maria Room is set to become the party event many more times in Australia!
